Performance art is an art form that combines visual art with dramatic performance. No one knows it better than Khatala Nkomo, who over the weekend captivated the residents and youth of Sophiatown. The workshop was primarily set to abstract stories from the local residents, as well as develop characters from the Kofifi Digital #Archive #project. 

We were introduced to playback theatre where we shared our stories from our #book #club, the archive, and the community members themselves. #Stories like #Derrick #Thema’s - #Kort #Boy were articulated and curated with music, spoken words, and body movements. We also featured #Regina #Brooks's battle against the system that bulldozed the life of #Sophiatown. She is the inspiration for today’s feature in our #Black #History #Month. As we celebrate the month of Love, Let’s not forget that road that we as a human race have come to look at ourselves as ourselves. #Umuntu #Ngu #Muntu #Nga #Bantu.
